Suggestions to configuration settings by engine type
deHavilland Gipsy Major & Blackburn Cirrus Minor
Low RPM Setpoint:Â Â Â Â Â Â 800 RPM
High RPM Setpoint:Â Â Â Â 1500 RPM
Low RPM Advance Angle:Â Â 15 deg
Mid RPM Advance Angle:Â Â Â 24 deg
High RPM Advance Angle:Â Â 33 deg
Continental Engine ranges A-65 through O-200
Lycoming Engines
Consult the operators manual of your engine model.
Configuration similar to fixed magneto
Configuring the ignition system to act like a conventional fixed-advance magneto, provide any arbitrary speeds and repeat the angles, like in the example below.
Low RPM Setpoint:Â Â Â Â Â 800 RPM
High RPM Setpoint:Â Â Â Â 1500 RPM
Low RPM Advance Angle:Â Â 26 deg
Mid RPM Advance Angle:Â Â 26 deg
High RPM Advance Angle:Â Â 26 deg
This will make the CVI-4-V3 act like a fixed magneto with an impulse coupling and a spark advance of 26 degrees when running.
