Enabler or Redundancy
FOR EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT ONLY
The power supply system is ideal for supplying your new electronic ignition system with power, in case your plane does not already have a 12 V power source. It can provide around 6 Amps of power at 2200 RPM, which is plenty for supplying the Drino CVI-4-V3 Electronic Ignition System, and many of your auxiliary electronic devices, such as navigation or modern low-power avionics.
In case you are going for dual electronic ignition it may be a good idea to have a separate power supply for each system and the Drino power supply is perfect for that application.
Designed to fit in the magneto drive on sveral GA aero engines, the power supply system is easy to install and use.
The Power Supply System product series span the following variants:
- PSS-CL-T-V1 – For Continental & Lycoming engines, for tapered magneto gear.
- PSS-CL-P-V1 – For Continental & Lycoming engines, for impulse magneto gear.
- PSS-CI-T-V1 – For Blackburn Cirrus Minor engines, for tapered vernier magneto gear.
- PSS-CI-P-V1 – For Blackburn Cirrus Minor engines, for impulse vernier magneto gear (adaptor supplied).
- PSS-GY-P-V1 – For DeHavilland Gipsy Major engines, with vernier magneto gear (adaptor supplied).
Advantages:
- Provides 14,4 V & 6 Amps @ 2200 RPM
- Fits in the magneto drive, on the engine rear section
- Is ideal as supply for the CVI-4-V3 Electronic Ignition System on planes with no existing power supply, and can power other low-consumption auxillaries at the same time.
- Works great with a 3 Ah GEL battery
- Has an adjustable trigger-disc for the electronic ignition system, CVI-4-V3.
Prerequisites:
- Requires a magneto gear to match the shaft – not supplied with the Power Supply System
The box includes:
- Permanent magnet alternator with adjustable trigger disc for CVI-4-V3 Electronic Ignition System
- Lightweight combined voltage rectifier and charging regulator, including connector.
- Installation and operation manual
